Welcome to my blog, Cooking With Kimmy! Gluten-Free

Hello and welcome!  I created this blog to share my journey into gluten-free baking. I am not a  professional by any means, but a hobby baker with a passion for making gluten-free foods that will leave people guessing – "This can't really be gluten-free, can it?"  Like many of you, tired of paying exuberant prices for mediocre food. And tired of recipes that require professional skills and a science lesson to bake.

My goal is to create simple recipes without sacrificing quality. Explain things in a way that is easy to understand without having a culinary or rocket science degree! This site will probably not teach you to bake professionally and present the perfect, beautiful anything – but it WILL provide you with absolutely delicious food that will bring back everything you have been missing since giving up gluten. Many of my recipes will also cater (or provide options that will) to other dietary restrictions such as FODMAP or Dairy intolerance.

Since this is just my hobby and I must pay bills, my day job is a bookkeeper. Far cry from baking, I know!  And I attend online college at night. My spare time is devoted to creating baking, creating recipes, and maintaining my Facebook groups and this site. I cannot do all of this as frequently as I would like, but will do it as often as I can. And I could not do any of it without my supportive husband and bonus son! They are my cheerleaders and backup crew – everything from unscrewing lids to chopping up fillings and cranking out my ravioli sheets.  And on that note, you may notice a lot of recipes that trend toward Italian, as my husband comes from an Italian family. His grandparents on both sides immigrated to America, and many of the recipes and traditions stuck.

I sincerely hope that my recipes, tips and experiences will help others who are new to the gluten-free diet or gluten-free baking, no matter the reason. It can be an overwhelming frustrating time. There is no one right way to do anything, but If I can make the path a little bit easier I will. Please feel free to leave comments, and you can always email me if you have questions or requests.

You can also follow me on social media, and if you are interested in Sourdough baking, join my Facebook group!

  1. You really make it seem really easy along with your presentation however I to find this matter to be really one thing which I think I’d never understand. It sort of feels too complicated and very huge for me. I’m looking ahead to your next publish, I’ll attempt to get the cling of it!
